ST. LOUIS (April 16, 2026) – Keyway Center for Diversion & Reentry (Keyway) announced today that it has been selected as one of 38 nonprofits serving St. Louis County to receive funding through the St. Louis Port Authority’s Community Investment Fund, securing $300,000 over a two-year period. This marks the second consecutive year Keyway has received funding through the Community Investment Fund, following its initial selection in the 2024 grant cycle. The award affirms the organization’s continued impact and leadership in diversion and reentry services.
“The St. Louis County Port Authority’s Community Investment Fund focuses on investment in programs and organizations that strengthen economic and community development in our region. Keyway Center for Diversion and Reentry is working to empower women to re-establish productive lives after involvement in our justice system of police, courts, and imprisonment,” said Kevin F. O’Malley, Chair of the St. Louis County Port Authority. "Keyway’s program, which includes aiding participants in securing and maintaining employment, aligns with our goals of fostering economic engagement for all. We are happy to support Keyway’s continued success and the success of these St. Louis County residents.”

Centered on four critical areas of need, including housing stability, financial security, emotional wellness and community reengagement, Keyway’s services are vital for St. Louis’ justice-involved women and their families. In Missouri, nearly 44% of women released from prison return within two years. In 2025, less than 2% of Keyway participants were reincarcerated within one year of program enrollment, 79% obtained employment, 77% maintained sobriety, and 87% reported a reduction in trauma symptoms.
